Peace Heroes Listed by Use, Benefit and Price

Grepolis has the heroes sorted in alphabetical order. And my goodness, there are a lot of heroes by now. There are so many, they often overlap. I decided to make various lists that help with deciding which one is the right one; or if you have one on offer, to check quickly if there are better options. Heroes come in two families, peace heroes with a scroll in their hands, and war heroes with a sword. This post is about peace heroes.

There are 17 peace heroes to choose from. Their concerns include savings in resources and savings in time; or boosting of resources and boosting of spells and festivals. I will try to make sense in lists that give you a better idea than the alphabet. Boosts are shown from level 1 to 20. The boosts are the same, no matter what speed your world runs on. Coins below show the recruiting costs.

The resource boosting heroes:

Andromeda boosts wood, stone, and silver production by 16.5 to 45 % for free.
Ylestres boosts wood production by 44 to 120 % for 65 coins.
Rekonos boosts stone production by 44 to 120 % for 65 coins.
Terylea boosts silver production by 44 to 120 % for 65 coins.

That's it, not much choice there. Andromeda is yours as soon as you found your city. The others are a matter of taste. Terylea is a definite help in filling caves. For someone as paranoid as me, that is a reason to recruit her.

The heroes in the barracks:

Chiron saves resources and recruiting time on hoplites by 22 to 60 % for 105 coins.
Odysseus saves resources and recruiting time on swordsmen by 22 to 60 % for 115 coins.
Philoctetes saves resources and recruiting time on archers by 22 to 60 % for 60 coins.
Ferkyon
saves time on all units recruited in the barracks by 11 to 30 % for 70 coins.

The heroes in the barracks can be quite impressive when under pressure to perform. They can be used to jump from city to city. Once the order is placed in the barracks, they can move on to the next city. They don't have to watch over their hatchlings. I once managed to combine Chiron with barracks levels and stacked spells to spit out a hoplite in less than 30 seconds. The attackers were totally pissed off to find hundreds of them every time they showed up.

The heroes in the harbor:

Aristotle saves resources and building time on light ships by 22 to 60 % for 105 coins.
Daidalos saves resources and building time on biremes by 11 to 30 % for 70 coins.
Eurybia saves resources and building time on triremes by 11 to 30 % for 105 coins.
Argus saves resources on all units recruited in the harbor by 11 to 30% for 105 coins.
Pariphaistes saves time on all units built in the harbor by 11 to 30 % for 70 coins.

The heroes in the harbor can jump around from city to city. Once the order in the harbor is placed, they can move on to  the next city. Watching grass grow isn't part of their job description.

The city boosting heroes with a best before date:

Christopholus saves time on building by 11 to 30 % for 70 coins.
Apheledes saves resources and time on research by 22 to 60 % for 70 coins.

The use of these two is time limited; they are useful for the build up of a city, but once it's built it's built. Some constructive jumping around from city to city can make the most of them.

The heroes in the casino:

Orpheus gives you a 33 to 90 % chance of doubling culture points in the city for 75 coins.
Democritus gives you a 22 to 60 % chance of doubling positive effects on the city for 70 coins.

I call them the casino gang because you really don't know what Grepolis is doing with your heroes here. Democritus is a waste of coins even if some day you could afford to boost him to 60 %. But I tell you, it is very expensive to get to level 20. Which tells you how dear an investment in Orpheus is as well. Again, you might make Orpheus jump from city to city to try on as many festivals as possible.
